While people were filing in I heard the people behind us say "riff-raff", so I looked and it was some metal heads or something walking past that they were referring to. I promptly said, quite loudly, "Oh look, there are normal people here and not just pretentious fucks". It might not have done any good, but it made me feel better :D Oh Marian is quite awesome, depending on some of the issues she deals with, you can reaaaaaally relate. But yes, it's all funny life-affirming stuff and you should read it. And none of this bloody depressing stuff that everyone seems so keen on. Happy thoughts! It is so true what you say about Saffa crowds, they are notoriously bad. Apparently Jozi people are ok, but people from Durbs and CT are really bad. Since I have been in the UK I realised, when I went beck to Durbs and saw R.E.M there. Seriously, white South Africans are so reserved it is ridiculous. What we need to do is to get black people to like the shit we like, then we can have some fun in the crowds. Also I think the people who go to these things in SA are rich and therefore too cool for school. In the UK things are more affordable for normal people and everyone just has fun, no one cares who is watching. Oh and I saw Marian Keyes in someone elses newspaper today, talking about her terrible struggle with depression.
