Oh yeah absolutely. The movie would have put me off the books completely. I did find a way around it though: Get absolutely drunk or stoned and then watch it. It suddenly becomes a fantastic movie.

I have yet to actually watch this (it’s gone instantly into the “Wait for Video” pile for me). I read the books, they were fine, but yeah, it did not create any sort of obsession within me either. I will say that if I’d watched the movie before reading the books, I wouldn’t have got within a foot of the books. Twilight was such a rubbish movie … They got the casting so badly wrong in my opinion
