All in all it was another predictable year for the Academy Awards. Mostly. It’s still a bit shocking that Meryl Streep was nominated and didn’t win.

Heath Ledger actually won Best Supporting Actor. How sad is that?
Trolls, this is the point where you come out and call me all sorts of names because I’m about to talk trash about your beloved Heath.
Now I may be the only person in the world who has seen the Dark Knight and thinks this, but I really found the film to be overrated. Majorly. And the same goes for Heath’s performance. It really was not that fucking great. For the millionth time I will say it – the only reason people went absolutely befuck over his performance is because he went and accidentally offed himself. So now, while he’s a nine course dinner for some worms….or some ashes ready to be snorted by a groupie…we’re giving him the coveted golden statuette for an overrated performance in an overrated film because he was very very silly about his pill popping behaviour.
Blah.
I hate the bleeding hearts of the world.

Also, I’ve been prompted by my mother – who apparently doesn’t fear for my personal safety – to start up a weekly feature (at least) about cyclists being self righteous bastards. With pictures and videos of them being right twats. I’m thinking it might be a fun idea, especially considering the fact that we constantly get their side of the story in the papers and online because they are such a vocal bunch (wankers). Thoughts are, as always, welcome. And if you want to bitch at me you can do that too.

So what is the reason for your animosity towards cyclists or do you just hate them out of principal? I’m a cyclist for a long time now and I know there are some cyclists that are real idiots that think the law does not apply to them it is probably the same mentality of a lot of drivers on the road.

But with regard to cyclists.. PARTICULARLY my MTB boys ,I may or may not comment on these substandard rantings.
That movie was very overrrated, but I must admit Heath’s peformance was the best part. Not Oscar worthy, perhaps, but definitely the only part worth watching.
B – I’ve told you love, MTB boys are different. They really are. I’ve never had a bad experience with one.
Conrad – Mainly I take issues with the arrogant law breaking spandex brigade. You know, those that not only endanger their own lives but mine as well because they couldn’t be bothered. Unfortunately I’ve come across so many that it’s just easiest to refer to all cyclists.
Much like I do with taxis and Toyota drivers.
Well I think it was well deserved, because now he’s supporting about six feet of earth. Talk about dedicated. How many of the other nominees can boast that? Huh? Huh?
Well I’m glad that (at least in the comments) you differentiate between cyclists and MTBers.
As for Heath, well done mate. You were the best thing in the movie! Maybe not worthy of an Oscar, but still the best actor in Dark Knight. Don’t even get me started on Bale!
Look, I’m a huge Batman fan, loved the comics since the day I was first able to get hold of them. And I do agree, I can’t understand just why the movie is as OVER-rated as it is. It is too long, it has way to many ‘finish points’ and quite frankly, Christian Bale just really doesn’t come across as an awesome Batman (though he is hugely better than all the other actors that have portrayed the Dark Knight before!)
However, as much as I didn’t LOVE the last movie, I have to say that Ledger’s performance was really twisted and really brilliant. Yes, he has gone and offed himself, but looking at the lack of any real competition in the category, I think he really deserved to walk off with the Oscar (well, not literally walk off of course. You know what I mean
).

Craig – It would have been something really spectacular if he did walk off with it.
I will say that he was good. I don’t deny that. And maybe the best part of the movie once I put my Bale fandom aside…but I just don’t think it was Oscar worthy.
