Straight off I’m going to say that I have never liked Jon Qwelane, his columns have always reeked of racism and an attitude that is rather unbecoming in a columnist.
On Sunday he wrote a column about homosexuals in the church which has caused large amounts of outrage throughout the gay community. (Not online at news24 strangely enough but you can find it here)
And all I have to say is what a fucking coward.
Whilst I don’t give a flying fuck what sexuality people choose to have and whether or not a man wants to marry another man or have a child (in fact I think a lot of gay couples would make better parents than the people who are allowed to breed just because they have the right parts, you know, alcoholic mothers who stay with wife beating husbands), I do accept there are people out there that still find it…icky. I know plenty of people with unjustified homophobia and, well, you’re always going to have some right? I don’t go over to them and give them a stern talking to and try to change their views. It’s not going to happen.
That being said, writing a homophobic rant and then using religion and God as an excuse is being a coward and that’s just fucking sad.
I would have respected the man more if he had just come out and said “I don’t like gay people because it offends my delicate chewy center”…but nooo, he chose the route of homosexuality offending his morals and making a mockery of religion. Oh yeah and apparently we should change the constitution…he doesn’t say how we should change it but I’m going to assume he wants the queens to die as a result of the change or something similar.
Fuck off you flaming cunt.
If David Bullard could get fired for the article he wrote and you manage to come through this alive, it’s going to be a sad fucking day for South African journalism.
